The Goodness of God

“Oh, give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good. For His mercy endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord speak out, who He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.” Psalm 107:1-2 MEV

Hey friend!

How have you seen God’s goodness in your life lately?

When I take the time to pause and reflect, I can see God’s goodness all around me. He sustains me throughout my day when I feel like I’m about to drown. He settles my spirit and calms my soul when life gets overwhelming. He leads me and guides me through all the ups and downs in the daily grind of life. Without the goodness of God, I would have surely fallen off the deep end by now.

The key is pausing and reflecting. If we aren’t careful to take a moment to pause and reflect on God’s goodness in our life, we can miss out on some tremendous blessings as well as miss seeing His activity in our life.  God’s goodness can’t be and isn’t tied to our circumstances. Our circumstances and situations will rise high and dip extremely low but God’s goodness remains steadfast. That’s because His goodness is based solely on His character. Malachi 3:6 tells us, “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.”

Psalm 107:1-2 says, “Oh, give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good. For His mercy endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord speak out, who He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.”

Let’s be women who cultivate a heart full of thankfulness as we meditate on the goodness of God. And as Psalms 107:2 tells us – Let’s not keep it to ourselves – let’s tell others of His goodness!

 Father,

Thank you for your goodness and your love. Thank you for sustaining me day after day. Thank you for loving me even in the mess and for pulling me back to you. Help me not to keep silent about your goodness but give me the boldness to share you with others that you put in my path!  I love you!

In Jesus Name, Amen.
